SEKI Cutlery Festival 2009 will be held on October 10-11th
As you know, Seki city is known as Japanese knife capital, where the fine knives are being produced with 800 years of the Samurai swordmaking tradition and history.
Every year since 1960′, Seki Cutlery Festibal called “HAMONO-MATSURI” have been held.
Last year, about 25 thousant people came and enjoyed SEKI City in two days.
About 50 cutlery companies in SEKI city and about 60 custom knife makers from over
the world will take part in the festival. And many attractions about cutlery will be held in the festival.
People can buy cutleries on special prices and enjoy SEKI CITY!!
SEKI city has about 60% share of cutllery products in Japan. The products are chef knives, hunting knives, barber’s scissors and razors, nail clippers and scissors, can openers, corkscrew, table knife, forks, spoon, Japanese sword Katana and so on.
So people call SEKI “the City of Cutlery = SEKI”. The history is very long ,about 800 years ago.
