Naoe Kanetsugu (1560-January 23, 1620) was a Japanese samurai of the 16th-17th centuries. The eldest son of Higuchi Kanetoyo, Kanetsugu was famed for his service to two generations of the Uesugi daimyo.
Kanetsugu served Uesugi Kenshin, and Kanetsugu was loved most by Kenshin.
After Kenshin had died, he served Kagekatsu, of the adopted son of Kenshin.
Naoe Kanetsugu had kept his faith, Love and Justice all through his life. So his life have been loved by many people in Japan.
The Kabuto, samurai warrior helmet has the emblem “ai” in Kanji meaned “Love”.
